Newly renovated Bayside Sunshine Cottage is a fabulous Saturday to Saturday oceanfront vacation rental located in the village of Bayside in Northport, Maine. Most of the cottages in Bayside are snuggled close together and are charmingly Victorian in style with gingerbread trim. The area has narrow one-way streets and the house is just one-block from water access and the sandy/rocky beach located in the center of the village. Just a 15 minute drive south is a sandy beach in Lincolnville along with both indoor and take-out dining and fun shops and the town of Belfast is a short drive north.
Built in 1999 the cottage is Victorian on the outside with peaked roof and gingerbread trim. The inside has been updated with new baths, bedrooms and kitchen appliances. This house is comfortable while being whimsical and bursting with color. The water view deck now has a bar with seating for up to eight people while enjoying the fabulous views of Penobscot Bay.
First Floor
The front porch leads into the entryway and into the open and colorful living room and eat-in kitchen area. Unobstructed views of the water greet you from all areas. From the living room and dining area you can access the deck with dining bar which overlooks the water. There is also a full bath behind the kitchen and a circular stairway to the lower level. The second floor master bedroom and newly remodeled ensuite bath with tiles shower are accessed by a stairway from the living room. The master bedroom has a king bed and a small deck overlooking the water perfect for morning coffee or an evening cocktail. The ensuite bath has a new shower and water views; the laundry room with stackable washer and dryer is off of the master suite.
Second Floor
The lower level can be accessed by the circular stairway or though an outside door and has been completely renovated with two bedrooms; one with queen bed and one with two twins or a king conversion and both bedrooms have water views. A completely new bath with shower completes the lower level. The outside door on this level leads to the yard and water.
Reviews
“Perfect place to stay. Excellent location and lovely view; we will recommend to our friends.” D.C. July 2016
“Very nice property; very well put together. You obviously put a lot of thought and love into putting this house together.” D.C. July 2016
“This cottage is part of a small community of Victorian cottages built on the grounds of a Victorian era church camp. Quite a few of the cottages date back to the 1800s but this one appears to be a complete rebuild in the last 30 or 40 years. They did an excellent job matching the community so you have all the Victorian charm with modern fixtures and finishes. The houses are packed in very close to each other but this cottage overhangs the bluff and makes it feel like you are in a remote location. The house has no air conditioning. The downstairs “basement” rooms stayed very comfortable. The upstairs “attic” room got a little warm during the day, but cooled off nicely at night. The bathrooms and kitchen all had recent facelifts and had very nice appliances and fixtures. It was decorated very nicely and the owners obviously take great pride in their property. The ladies at the property management company who handle the bookings are a joy to work with. We had an awesome stay at this property.”   July 2016 submitted to HomeAway
