By responding in agreement to this Addendum, GUEST assumes the risks associated with COVID-19 Coronavirus and is aware the COVID-19 Coronavirus is a pre-existing pandemic/epidemic/endemic as of March 13, 2020 when President Donald Trump declared a nationwide emergency pursuant to Sec. 501(b) of Stafford Act which gave federal emergency aid for the state of Maine to supplement state, tribal, and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic beginning on January 20, 2020. This addendum is in addition to indemnification of the previously signed 2020 Vacation Rental Agreement.
Guest will not hold Camden Accommodations, nor the homeowner, liable for the contraction or exposure to COVID-19 Coronavirus during the travel to and from the vacation rental advertised as COTTAGE or while GUEST or any person is visiting, staying, residing, or otherwise entering the vacation rental home between the dates of Date and Date with available check-in and checkout times of 6pm and 9am, respectively. ** Please note the new check in time of 6pm and the new check out time of 9am necessitated by the cleaning and sanitizing protocols to be followed during this pandemic.
The undersigned understands the following: the OWNER will not be liable to GUEST for events beyond the OWNER’s control which may interfere with GUEST’s occupancy, including but not limited to acts of God, acts of government agencies, bans, terrorism, fire, strikes, war, criminal acts, inclement weather, mandatory evacuation of area, power outages, pandemics/epidemics, endemics, outbreaks, and construction noise from nearby sites. If there are new quarantine and/or travel restrictions mandated by the GUEST’s state of residency or by the State of Maine that GUEST is not willing to comply with and/or will suffer legal ramifications or be in direct opposition of government mandates or agencies, GUEST understands a refund of the total of the reservation will be returned to GUEST minus/forfeit the service fee plus taxes associated with that fee.
GUEST is aware of the two-week quarantine upon arrival for all guests coming from outside of Maine except those arriving directly from Vermont or New Hampshire, unless they can provide a Certificate of Compliance affirming negative Covid-19 tests within 72 hours of their arrival date for all adults in their party (in effect July 1). GUEST assumes the risk of entering the State of Maine and adhering to state or town mandates or ordinances which include but are not limited to quarantine restrictions, social distancing requirements, testing, trace contact, and closure of public areas, restaurants, and shopping centers. Currently, guests in quarantine may not enter stores, businesses or restaurants although they are allowed outside in uncrowded open spaces while wearing masks and social-distancing.
Camden Accommodations and the homeowner confirm the guidelines provided by the State of Maine and Governor Janet Mills in accordance with CDC Guidelines will be followed and the vacation rental will be cleaned and sanitized within the terms provided by the aforementioned.
