What should I expect?

Camden Accommodations’ properties are mostly older classic Maine homes. Many were built around the turn of the century with appropriate charm & character. We do have some newer properties so if you are accustomed to newer homes or condominiums – let us know your preference. Our staff routinely visits all of our properties so that you can speak to someone with first-hand knowledge.

All of our cottages are privately owned and reflect the individual owner’s tastes and needs. Our listings include rustic camps to large oceanfront homes…and everything in between.

What time can I get into my rental?

Those staying in the Camden area will check in at our office at 4 p.m. to pick up keys, directions and related materials.

What time do I have to leave?

9 a.m. We’re sorry, but there are no exceptions. Here’s a list of what’s expected of you at check-out time:

  • Wash and properly put away dishes
  • Consolidate used towels and leave in the tub or shower
  • Remove leftovers from refrigerator
  • Take all trash out to trash cans
  • Lock all doors and return keys to Camden Accommodations office,

Will there be construction in the area? Midcoast Maine is a very desirable, developing area with houses under construction. We do not move people, give refunds due to construction noise, or to guarantee views. If you’re concerned, please inquire before you book.

What kind of cleaning services are there? Our cottages are cleaned before and after every guest’s stay. All beds are made fresh for your arrival and each guest is given at least 1 full set of towels (bath, hand & wash cloth) and in many properties you receive 2 sets to use during your stay. While there is no housekeeping during your stay, optional interim cleaning service can be arranged at your expense with advance notice. Rates vary from property to property.

How can I find Camden Accommodations? Directions to Camden Accommodations from Boston and the South: It’s about a 4 hour drive from Boston. Take Interstate #95 North (which is clearly marked with signs reading “Maine and Points North”) to Exit 44 in South Portland. Here, you will take Interstate #295 through Portland, until you reach Exit 28, which is the Bath/Brunswick Exit. From here, find US Route #1 north. Follow Route #1 north through Brunswick, Bath, Woolwich, Wiscasset, and Waldoboro. Approximately 6 miles north of Moody’s Diner in Waldoboro you will see Route #90 (a left turn). Take this left and follow to where it again meets up with Route #1 in Rockport. Take a left at the stop light and follow Route #1 north. Continue past The Helm Restaurant, Maine Sport – both on the left, and 1st Bank of Damariscotta on the right. You will ascend a small hill, keeping an eye out for the Camden Accommodations sign on the right. We’re the 2nd drive after the bank. We are located at 60 Commercial Street Rockport, Maine 04856.

Are linens provided?

Bed and bath linens are provided; all beds are made fresh for your arrival and each guest is given at least 1 full set of towels (bath, hand and wash cloth) and in many properties you receive 2 sets to use during your stay. While most mattresses are new and of good quality, we make no guarantees. Beach towels are not provided.

What if I leave something at my rental? Camden Accommodations will not be responsible for lost items. Items retrieved and returned may include a $35 fee plus postage. Lost and found items unclaimed after 30 days will be donated to a local charity..

How are weekly rates determined?

Weekly rates normally reflect location, maximum occupancy, amenities and other special features, as well as decor.

Are there off-season rates?

The rates may be lower outside of June – October. We have a limited number of properties available for off-season weekly or longer term rentals. Please inquire.

What if something must be fixed during my stay?

Camden Accommodations and the property owners do everything possible to keep all equipment in good working order. We will work to correct any deficiencies as soon as possible during normal business hours. There will be no refunds or adjustments for malfunctioning equipment. Camden Accommodations can be reached 24/7 for emergencies.

Will there be a telephone at my rental?

Many of our properties do NOT have land line telephones. Some may have a toll block for long distance calls. If you require a land line, please let us know when you are booking your reservation.

What happens to the trash?

Trash is removed once a week. The day of the week varies from property to property. In the event you wish to take the trash to the transfer station, the location and hours, as well as recycling information, should be noted at each property.

What is provided at my rental?

Basic items provided include but are not limited to: toaster, basic pots & pans, various size glasses, dishes, flatware, utensils, coffee pot, alarm clock, smoke detectors, fire extinguisher, CO2 detector, pillows, blankets, sheets and towels and a starter supply of bar soap, dish soap, and paper goods are provided to meet the home’s maximum occupancy. In most cases, either a gas or charcoal grill is supplied.

What should I bring?

  • Beach towels.
  • Food and condiments.
  • Additional paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags) and soaps beyond the starter supply.
  • Laundry soap (if there is a washer/dryer at your property).
  • Plastic wrap and foil.
  • Baby equipment (rental information available under Concierge Services).
